U.S. government moves closer to lifting HIV travel ban for immigrants and tourists
"The U.S. government took a significant step towards ending its 22-year ban on allowing HIV-infected foreigners into the country this week, by issuing a proposal that would remove the AIDS-causing virus from the list of diseases that can bar entry.
Under the new regulations, HIV testing would no longer be a part of the medical exams required for permanent residence and certain travel visas."
